Since 2011, CA has directly fostered the development and interconnection of over 25 GW of clean and renewable energy technology-based power generation. Our client base includes leading utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) and power project developers globally, Federal Government and other government agencies, including State Government.
We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer with a strong background in power systems and power electronics. The ideal candidate must support the U.S. energy market or power sector, possess exceptional modeling capabilities in power electronics, and demonstrate a solid understanding of power systems concepts.
Role: Power Electronics Engineer
( Must be supporting U.S. energy market OR US power sector)

Role & Responsibilities of Power Electronics Engineer
Technical Skills and Expertise:
- Perform data analysis related to bulk transmission, distributed generation, and power quality studies.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission and distribution planning, renewable grid integration studies, power system economics and reliability assessment.
- Supporting engineering studies on solar, wind, storage plants and utility power systems.
- Proficiency in integrating renewable energy sources and energy storage systems into the grid.
- Comprehensive knowledge of power converter topologies and control strategies employed in renewable energy systems, with a focus on their impact on grid performance.
- Familiarity with grid codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC) related to renewable energy integration.
- Conduct thorough grid studies to evaluate the impact of renewable energy integration.
- Knowledge of simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, MATLAB/Simulink, TARA etc. Expertise and skill in at least one software package is a MUST.
- Programming skills in C++, Python or another major programming language and/ or other data analysis tools such as Excel Macro, R, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- MS, M. Tech., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is preferred from a premium engineering university or college such as the IITs or NITs in India is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 1 to 1.5 years of successfully supporting U.S. energy market analysis or having worked in the US power sector in some capacity is required.
- Project management experience with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and engagements simultaneously.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Programming skills in Python or another major programming language and/ or other data analysis tools such as Excel, R, etc.
- Write engineering reports that document study results. Objective and concise writing and presentation skills.

Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel for business as needed within North America and internationally. A person based in India may have limited to no need to travel to the United States.
