About the Team

The Business Systems team’s mission is to drive a coherent, integrated backbone of supporting software systems that is architected for growth, efficiency, and scale.  The team is responsible for the overall global information strategy including systems design, architecture, and roadmap.   The Business Systems team is an agile organization which helps improve company efficiency and support strategic business initiatives in partnership with its respective business stakeholders.

Confluent is seeking a skilled and experienced Salesforce Development Manager to oversee the successful delivery of Salesforce projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Salesforce development and administration, combined with exceptional leadership and project management skills. As a Salesforce Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of Salesforce solutions, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely and high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Salesforce developers, administrators, and other project resources to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Salesforce delivery-related matters.
  • Ensure that all Salesforce projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team and regularly evaluate their performance.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure development best practices are followed, code is efficient, and does not negatively impact existing functionality in Salesforce and upstream/downstream systems.
  • Manage risks and issues through effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Actively foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Encourage innovation and the adoption of best practices to enhance the team's productivity and delivery capabilities.
  • Help provide a delivery framework that ensures quality and success.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX change management policies
  • Serve as the thought leader for Salesforce development teams, helping to define and enforce development guidelines and design best practices.
  • Work cross functionally with other systems teams to ensure that cohesive end-to-end solutions are being delivered.
  • Provide thoughtful solutions and best practice recommendations to help resolve business challenges.
  • Oversee release management process to ensure issue-free and timely Salesforce releases
  • Manage and provide operational support for any Salesforce production issues during non-US timezone.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a Salesforce Architect, Lead Developer, or Delivery Manager role
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and other Salesforce development tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations, data migration, and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledge of JIRA or similar sprint planning tools
  • Knowledge of Copado CICD or similar Salesforce CICD tools
  • Experience working with Agile, Lean Kanban development methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and team work.  
  • Strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans.
  • Strong desire to learn and apply new technologies to business problems
  • Growth mindset with the ability to apply constructive feedback to improve themselves and processes around them
  • Ability to self-train quickly and pick up new skills as necessary
