We are looking for a Senior Engineer who ideates, architects, designs, and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the development teams working on Teradata Vantage features. Collaborating closely with senior technical architects, he/she will develop the core database roadmap, ensuring it aligns with emerging business needs and industry trends. This involves setting priorities based on strategic objectives and market developments.
Additionally, he/she will conduct thorough analyses of competitors and industry advancements in database and analytics technologies, identifying key insights. These findings will inform and advise Product Engineering leadership, supporting them in making informed business decisions. By staying ahead of technological trends will help shape the future direction of our product offerings and maintain our competitive edge.
This job involves guiding and mentoring the technical team on Teradata's technical features as well as emerging technologies related to database and analytics, with the aim of developing future technical leaders within the organization.
Who You’ll Work With
The Product Engineering organization within Teradata consists of several teams with engineers who have extensive knowledge of database internals in both traditional on-premises and cloud environments. These teams develop various features in Teradata Vantage product, helping to address complex business problems of our customers. Engineers work collaboratively to innovate and enhance product offerings, ensuring robust performance and scalability. They are also responsible for maintaining high standards of software quality and security.
The person in this role will report to the Site Lead of the Project Engineering organization in India. In addition to overseeing development of new features, he/she will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues, optimizing performance, and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes in the overall context of feature development. This role requires strong technical expertise, teamwork, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders across global locations.
