Join our team at Nutanix as a Sr Engineering Manager where you will play a crucial role in building a Unified Data Platform to support Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) and Nutanix Insights products. Your mission will be to build an observability platform that allows our customers to proactively monitor and manage their infrastructure and applications. Engineering / R&D at Nutanix

NCM provides an observability platform that allows Nutanix customers to proactively monitor and manage their private and public cloud infrastructure and applications. The Nutanix Insights team provides a telemetry data platform that provides insights into the customer install base to help crucial functions in the company, viz. Customer Support, Product Adoption and Renewals. The next-gen feature work in the Data Platform team will span across various aspects of a big data pipeline, such as data collection, data transformation / processing and data analysis. The candidate will have an opportunity to lead and mentor the Data Platform team in India and ensure it works well in conjunction with the team in the US. The candidate will work with SREs, Product Managers and other product teams to refine the scope of the wide-ranging and challenging problems and deliver creative solutions for the same.

Your Role

People Management

• Lead and grow a strong software engineering team of engineers spread across multiple locations in India by focussing on establishing a culture of empowerment and growth.
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, and career planning of engineers.

Product and Technical

• Collaborate with other Product teams, QA and Product Management in defining the technical roadmap for the data platform.
• Drive scalable, extensible architecture by participating in architecture and technical design for a data platform across SaaS and on-prem.

Engineering Process & Release Management

• Establish software development best practices and streamline release planning process to drive iterative and rapid feature deployment working with teams across geographies.
• Drive development of timely and high quality software releases
• Collaborate with Program Management to define the release process for SaaS and on-prem.

What You Will Bring

• BA, BS, or MS degree in computer science or related streams
• 15+ years experience in software product development.
• 4+ years experience in Engineering Management
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Experience with one or more of the following languages (Python, Scala, Java, Golang)
• Experience working with Big Data technologies and one or more of the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP etc)
• Having an owner's mindset and experience working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Good understanding and working experience in both SaaS and on-prem development best practices
