What You'll Do

We are seeking a dynamic Network Reliability Engineer who has experience working with security related network platforms. A successful candidate will play a crucial role in building and deploying network infrastructure through a CI/CD pipeline, automating workflows, and ensuring the reliability of our network systems. This role requires a deep understanding of network dynamics, automation principles, security archtiecture, and proactive troubleshooting techniques.

Job Duties

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure using a CI/CD pipeline, ensuring consistency and reliability across deployments.
• Interface with network and security platforms including Palo Alto to understand performance, risk, and stability of current and future architectures.
• Integrate various systems and tools to streamline network operations and enhance efficiency.
• Develop and automate workflows for common network tasks, eliminating manual processes and reducing toil.
• Automate troubleshooting procedures through proactive testing and monitoring, preemptively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact production.
• Engineer reliability into network systems through automated response mechanisms, ensuring rapid recovery from failures and minimizing service disruptions.
• Align error budgets and service-level objectives (SLOs) to prioritize reliability and maintain high service availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of reliability and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Gain a thorough understanding of network degradation and failure modes to proactively automate incident response procedures and prevent production outages.
• Foster a proactive approach towards network reliability, promoting individual resource well-being by reducing deployment anxiety and increasing job satisfaction.

What You'll Need to be Successful

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent career history.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or network security roles.
• Proficiency in building and deploying network infrastructure through CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with a broad set of Networking platforms, including Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto.
• Strong automation skills, with experience in scripting languages such as Python, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, LibreNMS or Netbox
• Knowledge of error budgeting, SLOs, and reliability engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset towards preventing network incidents.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Very strong English language skills.
