Job Description:

CoreStack is seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator.

Primary responsibilities would be to provide comprehensive DBA support for Mongo databases, with a focus on performance, reliability, scalability, security, and supportability of multiple databases across various environments (both cluster and standalone). Responsibilities include upgrades and migrations, development and automation of SOPs for common tasks, disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of the production environment stability from an operations perspective.

The ideal candidate for this position is an engineer with a strong background in database technologies, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills. The candidate must have a passion for handling issues related to complex systems running under real-world loads with 100s of live customers across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in providing DBA support for Mongo systems with Linux background.

• Comfortable working in a fast paced, 24/7 production environment supporting critical, real-time applications.

• Experience working with Mongo 6+ and MySQL Server is a plus.

• Extensive experience in Mongo database standards, upgrades, migrations, and best practices.

• An excellent understanding of Mongo internals.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience managing Cloud resources for running MongoDB Clusters.

• Ability to write MongoDB queries Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues.

• Experience in backup/recovery/failover methods and best practices.

• Experience in scripting languages, such as Shell, Python, etc.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science or similar areas or equivalent work experience

• Advanced performance & tuning skills to identify the contention at Database, Application, and OS layer and be able to provide the solution quickly to resolve production issues. Should have experience in interpreting performance metrics quickly.

• Ability to work and remain calm in a high-pressure environment.

• Good team working skills but equally capable of working independently.

• Configure and monitor numerous MongoDB instances and replica sets.
