THE OPPORTUNITY

The overall purpose of the Senior Technical architect is to take on hands on work to design and develop Connected Data Lake working with different stakeholders. Connected Lake should follow the best practices on Data Integration, Data Securicty, Data Governance, Data Ownership and Data consumption incorporated from design phase.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Project Delivery:

• Contribute to the on time and on budget delivery of Symphony RetailAI solutions, engaging and driving throughout the development life cycle - including initial analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging and support
• Engage at all stages of the agile development process, including planning, stand-up, showcase and retrospective sessions
• Build clean, well-factored code in line with agile principles, following SOLID principles and using test-driven development and continuous integration
• Facilitate the smooth delivery/completion of projects, support or enhancements you are overseeing or involved with
• Contribute to internal process and system improvements in order to ensure maximum efficiency across the company
• Support cross-team collaboration initiatives to bring products, services and processes together

Architecture & Design & Development :

• Work on Connected Data Lake setup working with multiple cross functional teams analysing different data elements available.
• Work on application architecture and High level and low-level design elements.
• Work with Data Lake team to setup Data Lake best practices for Data governance, Catalog Management, Data ownership, Data Classification
• Work on Data Integration and processing for Data Lake using Iceberg and Trino (Delta lake technology) and make sure E2E automation of deployment an job workflow is defined.
• Explore, Learn and pilot new upcoming tools and technologies and suggest within the platform wherever it is applicable.
• Look into performance challenges in the existing system and come up with short term and long-term solutions to take care of the same.
• Work with Data operation team to make sure right monitoring and notification mechanism is implemented for all data pipelines.
• Be a self-starter and take ownership for products and deliver them to perfection
• Good team player, who effectively communicates and educates team members with their learning. Also, consistently learn and keep delivering to the overall architecture.
• Work collaboratively with internal client teams to understand design concepts and advise how they can best be implemented technically
• Take ownership and define best practices documents for each technology solutions
• Be an individual contributor in designing and developing complex solutions in cloud, Datawarehouse, or nosql systems.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Strong experience working on Data Lake, Data warehousing and Big Data technologies.
• Good Hands-on Knowledge of Azure Technologies like ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Databricks delta, Kubernetes.
• 8-12 years’ overall experience designing and building solutions for Delta Lake.
• Worked on SMP and MPP architecture and Hands-on experience on any one of the database system (Terradata/ Netezza/ Exasol/ Yellowbricks)
• Good working knowledge on coding languages like Python, Spark
• Working Knowledge on Big Data technology like Spark, Delta Lake, Scala
• Good knowledge on any one integration tools like SSIS, ADF, Talend etc.
• Experience working in Agile environment preferred.
• Experience using code management and project management tools like Azure Devops
• Experience working with on-prem, cloud and hybrid cloud solutions
• Ability to work independently and as part of team.
• Be a strong individual contributor who has good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge on Iceberg and Trino would be beneficial.
