Summary : We have developed a computational method for the prediction of human-associated and non-human-
associated influenza A virus sequences. We developed prediction models for 15 types of influenza A proteins and models using whole genome sequences which achieved an AUC of 0.98 on a validation dataset. We showed that our method outperforms a similarity-based approach (i.e., blast) on the same validation dataset. Additionally, we integrated our best models into a user-friendly web server 'FluSPred' and a standalone version for the prediction of human-associated/non-human-associated influenza A virus strains.
