Cybersecurity/Vulnerability Management Analyst

Job Description: As a Vulnerability Management Analyst at Zelis, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security of our vulnerability data. You will be responsible for tuning and managing our vulnerability management tool as well as supporting the business by ensuring vulnerability data is accurately available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability Scanning: Manage scheduled vulnerability scanning of network, systems, and applications on both on-premise and cloud environments to identify security weaknesses and potential threats using Tenable Nessus
  • Tenable Configuration: Configure and optimize Tenable to ensure effective vulnerability scanning, tagging, and reporting.
  • Remediation Planning: Collaborate with IT and application teams to develop and deliver remediation reports based on Tenable scan results, prioritizing vulnerabilities based on risk.
     

Experience And Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
 

  • Proven experience in a Vulnerability Management role or similar cybersecurity position, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Proficient with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7 or similar
  • Working knowledge of security risk oversight, CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System), CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), and technical security vulnerability remediation/mitigation
  • Excellent understanding of threat detection and incident response procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and characterize security events effectively.
  • Understanding of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools and methodologies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other IT and security professionals.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, industry standards, and compliance.
  • Ability to maintain detailed incident reports, security procedures, and documentation for compliance and future reference.
  • Stay up to date with the latest security threats, technologies, and industry best practices to improve vulnerability remediation effectiveness.
