Toplyne is the data scientist for Sales and Marketing teams. You can predict anything with Toplyne - New customers, expansion sales, cross-sells, imminent churn from inbound demand, and existing customers.

Toplyne lets you combine first-party data (product usage, CRM, data warehouse) and third-party intent to build machine learning models on demand, without code to identify high-propensity accounts.

🧶 About the role

Explore the hidden world of B2B SaaS but at a B2C scale. Work with trillions of clickstream events, 10s of millions of users, and a few unassuming terabytes of data.

As a Backend engineer, you will scope and build high-quality integrations with third-party tools and data sources and architect systems to handle the increasing scale and complexity of our customer data.

Additionally, your role will involve:

• Collaborating with fellow engineers, and participating in peer code reviews to uphold code standards.
• Authoring unit tests to ensure product stability/functionality.
• Write the technical documentation of the modules that you own and capture the known issues and solutions.
• Build and maintain tooling and processes for data monitoring and observability.
• Managing the Backend team while also being a hands-on contributor.

💼 Ideal fit is?

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a robust understanding and experience with server-side languages such as Python/Java.
• Brings about 5 to 7 years of extensive software engineering experience, preferably within a startup environment where you've previously delivered high-quality products to users.
• Extremely good understanding of relational database systems like MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Being able to understand & design REST APIs is critical to ensure any reasonably complex functionality within the product.
• Holds strong opinions but isn't rigidly bound to specific technologies; you're naturally curious and keen to step into unfamiliar territory; comfortable with learning new stacks and choosing the right tool for the job.
• Values quick deployment and iterative building.
• Not looking for a 10x engineer. We are okay if you are 1x but are good at what you do, a good human being & work well in a team.
