About the Job:

Borneo is seeking a dedicated and skilled Product Designer who will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative products that align with our commitment to protecting privacy and maintaining compliance in the use of ML and Generative AI. As a Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in our product development process, from conceptualization to execution. Your expertise will guide the design of intuitive, user-centered solutions that address complex challenges in the security, data privacy, and compliance domain.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of new features and enhancements across our product suite, developing solutions for the intricate challenges involved in managing data privacy and compliance within ML and Generative AI applications.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the product's long-term vision and strategy.
• Conduct user research and usability studies to understand our users' needs, behaviors, and pain points, translating insights into design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, legal teams, and other designers to ensure that products meet both user needs and compliance requirements.
• Use agile methodologies to prioritize product features and tasks, balancing customer needs, business constraints, and technical realities.
• Oversee the development of prototypes for usability testing and concept validation.
• Translate insights into product features and improvements that deliver value to customers and differentiate the product in the market.
• Implement data-driven approaches to validate hypotheses and measure the success of product features through metrics and KPIs.
• Prepare internal teams for product releases through training, documentation, and support materials.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience (8+ years) in product design, with a portfolio showcasing expertise in designing for B2B platforms.
• Experience working in startups or fast-paced environments, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities they present.
• Proficiency in conducting user research to understand the needs and concerns of various stakeholders, including data scientists, compliance officers, and end-users.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Proficient in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma).
• Familiarity with global data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and compliance standards that impact the design and operation of products handling sensitive data.
• Knowledge of how data flows within systems, particularly those involving AI and machine learning, to design interfaces that effectively manage and control data usage.
