What you'll do
Docusign has recently consolidated our finance systems to the Oracle Cloud ERP including General Ledger (GL), Subledger Accounting (SLA), Accounts Payables (AP), Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Treasury, Projects, Accounts Receivables (AR), Procurement suite of applications. We are in the process of scaling our finance applications further and rolling out ERP globally to support Docusign’s growth. We are also expanding our global delivery capabilities in our India Development Center in Bengaluru, India.
As the Senior Application Engineer you will be responsible for working jointly with the US and Bangalore based EA finance and operations teams, our global business users and our outsourced partners to provide and deliver scalable core finance solutions.
This position is an individual contributor hands-on role reporting to the Director or Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications. The role may have a dotted line to a Lead Business System Analyst at the IDC.
Responsibility
- Function as a Senior Application Engineer and partner with the US-based Core Finance Team and Operations teams, multi-functional business stakeholders, and our outsourced partners to design and deliver business and technology solutions that improve Docusign’s Record to Report, Asset to Retire, and Source to Pay processes and systems
- Be a senior resource leading the definition of systems strategy, evaluation of tools, gathering and documenting business requirements, leading fit-gap analysis, as-is and to-be business process designs, prepare solution design, lead proof of concept (POCs), conduct conference room pilots (CRPs), testing, and end user training
- Prepare the business and system flows, functional design and technical design documentation, product demos, module configurations, development of BIP reports, and assist with any data mapping, integration approach, error handling, defining test scenarios, troubleshooting of issues and providing appropriate resolutions
- Analyze issues, perform root cause, develop permanent code fixes, configurations and tuning
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends, and apply them to the platform, where feasible
- Collaborate with other IDC Enterprise Applications team members to ensure timely delivery of cross-team initiatives
- Manage the Jira backlog and ServiceNow tickets and track the progress
- Highlight key issues, risks, and mitigation plans on a timely basis
- Be the point of contact for critical business issues for the EMEA and APAC users during US after-hours and holidays
- Be the champion and spokesperson for the EA-Finance team in India
- Serve as a liaison between the business function and IT to provide technical and business solutions that meet user needs.
Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring
Basic
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field with relevant IT or Oracle ERP experience
- 8-12 years of progressive hands-on techno-functional experience in business analysis, solution design, configurations, end-to-end implementation, or post-production support on Oracle ERP applications, including at least 5 years of recent experience on Oracle Cloud ERP specifically in one or more of the following Oracle modules: Procurement, Payables, Fixed Assets, Project Costing, EBTaxe, Receivables, Cash Management and/or General Ledger
- Experience developing extensions using Visual Basic Cloud Service (VBCS)
- Hands-on experience with SLA, BPM Workflow, SQL, Groovy scripting, BI Publisher, OTBI, FRS, Smartview and other related technologies
Preferred
- Understanding and experience of taxation using Avalara
- Experience with Payment Processors for bank integration
- Understanding or experience in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or other iPaaS technologies
- Understanding of SOX, basic accounting, taxation and financial reporting
- Oracle Cloud certification
- Experience working in an agile environment and using data to drive product decisions
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and Project Management tools
- Good functional knowledge of Data Conversion, Rapid Implementation Spreadsheets, File Based Data Load, Migrations, Inbound / Outbound Interfaces
- Thorough understanding of Oracle cloud APIs and experience in developing prototypes using Postman or similar tools
- Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent teammate who can work with virtual and global multi-functional teams
- Outstanding spoken and written communication, as well as receptive listening skills, and the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner to technical and non-technical audiences
