THE ROLE:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a Global Multinational Voice Wholesale and Mobile Carrier Network. You will be working along with a team consisting of Unix administrators, DBAs, DevOps Engineers and Application Support Engineers to support iBasis IS/IT Systems.
As a member of Application and Systems Support Engineering Team, you will be responsible for managing the Docker/Swarm cluster, Kubernetes infrastructure and our AWS instances.
The successful candidate will be an analytical, independent, flexible and self-confident professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. A proactive attitude is a must, as well as eagerness to learn and grow!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the Docker/Swarm cluster, Kubernetes infrastructure and our AWS instances
- Installing and Managing LDAP, NIS, NIS+, NFS, DHCP, SAMBA, HTTP, FTP, SSH, DNS etc.
- Manage CI/CD tools with the DevOps Team.
- Build and test automation tools for deployment of apps to the Kubernetes Cluster.
- Brainstorm to improve the delivery of apps, monitoring, and troubleshooting Development, Test and Production environments.
- Design and provision environments for the Developers.
- Provide technical guidance and educate team members and co-workers on development and operations.
- Monitor metrics of the Kubernetes environments, develop improvement plans and implement improvements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, Linux, Jenkins, ELK Stack, GitLab, Nexus Repository, Maven, Gradle, Ansible is mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related IT experience in Operations and DevOps.
- Experience with Linux infrastructure, opensource databases (mysql, postgres etc), CI/CD tools Jenkins, Gitlab, Nexus Repository, Jira, Agile workflow and Kanban.
- Solid understanding of IP network and TCP/IP
- Minimum of 6+ years’ work experience in IT
- Minimum of 4+ years experience as DevOps Engineer
- Experienced in shell scripting using bash, Ruby and Python to automate system administration jobs.
- Experience in working with different monitoring tools.
- Expertise in creation of start-up and shutdown scripts, crontabs, files system maintenance and backup scripting and automation.
- Experience configuring Jenkins as a CI engine to build and promote applications to QA, UAT and Staging to Linux environments.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
