Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Control and systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and control systems, with expertise in programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The PLC Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining PLC systems used in our product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop PLC programs using ladder logic, function block, or structured text programming languages.
  • Design control systems and electrical panels in compliance with industry standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation including electrical schematics, control diagrams, and system descriptions.
  • Integrate PLC systems with Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and other industrial automation equipment.
  • Ensure seamless communication between PLCs and other devices such as sensors, actuators, and drives.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of PLC programs to ensure reliable operation.
  • Perform on-site commissioning of control systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
  • Provide technical support during the start-up and commissioning phases.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on PLC systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Implement upgrades and enhancements to existing PLC systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in PLC technology and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a PLC Engineer or similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs from major manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems and their integration with PLCs are an added advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus TCP, MQTT, Profinet,).
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to control systems.
  • Certification in PLC programming or industrial automation.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require travel to various Onsites for system commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
