As a Product Manager within our Consumer Marketplace, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the User Experience across our domains (Sparefoot.com, Storage.com and SelfStorage.com), and overall optimizing the value we deliver to our consumers using our platform. This role demands a strong focus on ensuring the successful execution of product features from inception to delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize features that drive customer satisfaction and engagement, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to understand user needs and business requirements, with a specific focus on front-end user experience and algorithms.
- Communicate project status, updates, and insights to stakeholders, including senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Product Ownership & Strategy:
- Own the product and functionality, mastering an entire product or several modules within the marketplace platform.
- Define and communicate the product vision and strategy in partnership with other product leaders, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Own the execution process, from business case development to go-to-market (GTM) strategies and post-release feedback loops.
- Define, maintain, and groom the product roadmap and backlog to prioritize features and enhancements.
Front-End User Experience:
- Work closely with designers and engineers to translate product requirements into intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis of user feedback to identify opportunities for improving the front-end user experience.
Performance Measurement:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for front-end UX and algorithms, and develop measurement strategies to track product success.
- Partner with data analysts to analyze user behavior and engagement metrics, using insights to inform product decisions and optimizations.
Documentation and Process Management:
- Own documentation processes including confluence notes, architecture C4 diagrams, UX designs, and customer feedback.
- Manage requirements, architectural reviews, security reviews, and design reviews.
- Utilize analytics to measure, track, and optimize adoption, usage, conversion, and other drivers.
Customer Interaction and Support:
- Support customer interactions including escalations, feedback, and intake.
- Own the relationship with engineering stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of product features.
Industry Research and Innovation:
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in front-end UX design and algorithm development.
- Contribute to industry research, ad-hoc analyses, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Design, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- ~8+ years of experience in Product Management, UX design, or software development, with a focus on front-end UX.
- Experience with complex algorithms is desirable.
- Strong understanding of front-end development technologies and frameworks, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Experience with algorithm development and optimization techniques, preferably in the context of search, recommendations, or personalization.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation, with experience using tools such as SQL, Python, or R preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile development environment.
- Enthusiasm for the marketplace industry and a desire to innovate and drive continuous improvement.
