About us

Zenskar is building new-age billing and pricing infrastructure for SaaS companies. As SaaS pricing evolves from vanilla subscription-based models to more granular usage-based models, billing and pricing infrastructure needs to be completely reimagined.

Zenskar is founded by Apurv Bansal & Saurabh Agrawal, who sold their previous startups to Snapdeal and Gaana respectively. They have experience at organizations such as Google, Basepair, Elevation Capital, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and Harvard Business School. We are funded by marquee global investors, including Bessemer Venture Partners.

We are building our founding team, and are looking for folks who can optimize for quick iteration, and fast deployment and have a great developer experience. Ideally, you are excited about learning and meaningfully shaping the trajectory of an early-stage startup from Day 0 in its journey.

What you can expect

• Ownership and autonomy: As a founding team member, you have immense responsibility. You own and drive the execution.

Learning

• You will work on challenging problems and cutting-edge technologies, ship (a lot!), and engage in some of the most meaningful work of your life.

• On the backend side, we are building high throughput, high-scale data pipes to deal with the usage data of companies of any size.

• On the front-end side, we are building low-code interfaces for various parts of the billing stack to let companies design the best tools for themselves.

• You will have to think about all the people and systems that interact with the finance stack of a company, modularize the different parts of the stack well and build the correct abstractions. This includes systems like the CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) that Sales people interact with, the metering system that Developers manage, and the Billing, Payments, and Accounting systems that Finance manages.

Looking for a Lead Product Designer to take charge of our product design. As a key member of the team, your role and responsibilities will evolve as we grow. 

Role:  Lead Product Designer  - Founding Team

Location: Remote

Experience: 5 to 9 Years (B2B SaaS US-Product Design )

Role & Responsibility of Lead Product Designer

• Collaborating with the founders to understand business objectives and customer insights.

• Working closely with the product, engineering, and customer teams to co-create the product with early customers.

• Developing a design strategy, implementing high-quality design processes, and fostering a strong design culture through collaboration, empathy, feedback, and customer-centricity.

• Creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to bring ideas from inception to execution.

• Confidently communicating and influencing design decisions while promoting cross-functional collaboration.

• Conducting user research to identify problems and experiment with solutions, and advocating for user needs in shaping the product roadmap.

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of Zenskar's visual identity, ensuring consistency across all collateral.

• Organizing a well-maintained digital asset library with properly labeled, version-controlled, and easily accessible design files for the team.

• Strategizing, developing, and expanding visual design systems and pattern libraries.

• Building and managing a team of junior designers or interns with the required skills (product/graphic/illustration design) as we scale.

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in product design, including working with at least one SaaS product.

• Strong focus on user experience and journey, considering "why" as much as "how" in the design thinking process.

• Solid understanding and interest in modern UX/UI design principles for B2B SaaS products.

• Aesthetically inclined, with an eye for beautiful designs and an understanding of how small details contribute to a seamless, intuitive design.

• Self-driven individual with a strong work ethic and a sense of ownership.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to transform complex design problems into elegant, intuitive solutions.

• Collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams in defining, designing, and implementing new features.

• Expertise in product thinking and user empathy, connecting key user needs with effective solutions.

• Strong craft skills, including visual storytelling, pixel-perfect UI design, and prototyping.

• Proficiency in conducting user research studies.

• Experience leading multiple projects, sharing work with other product designers, and collaborating with cross-functional leadership.

• Ability to build, manage, and motivate a team of junior designers or interns.

• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Ability to bring a positive and light-hearted attitude to your work.

Additional Skills (Good to Have):

• Basic understanding of frontend principles and modern web technologies (such as Tailwind CSS and React) to facilitate collaboration with the engineering team.

• Experience in startup environments, comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with ambiguity.
