Product Development

In addition to providing consulting services, the Company creates software for the renewable energy industry. We work with top solar, wind, and battery developers across the US and abroad to efficiently bring more renewable energy onto the power grid.

Looking for a Product Manager with Software Architecture expertise to aid in delivering GIS-based tools for our flagship electrical grid assessment tool – GridSenseTM. Responsibilities include developing modular ETL workflows, enhancing GIS analysis engine features, and improving the front-end mapping interface. Operating remotely with an agile Kanban approach, you'll oversee the product lifecycle end-to-end.

What you'll do...

  • You will help deliver GIS-based tools to our internal and external facing users for our flagship electrical grid assessment tool – GridSenseTM. 
  • This will include things such as helping build modular ETL-based workflows to incorporate into our data management system, features, and improvements to our GIS-based analysis engine and improvements/fixes to our front-end mapping interface. Our team uses an agile Kanban development approach and is a fully remote team. You will own the complete product from concept to completion.

Overview:

  • You will be responsible for the product from conception to launch. 
  • You will define the system requirements and architectural solution for the product and ensure that the product meets customer needs, aligns with business objectives, and achieves market success. 
  • As part of your role, you will be expected to work with customers, internal and industry experts and cross-functional groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy:
    • Develop and execute a product strategy aligned with company goals and market needs.
    • Conduct market research, and competitor analysis, and gather customer feedback to inform product decisions.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences to ensure products deliver value.
  • Roadmap Planning:
    • Create and maintain product roadmaps outlining feature prioritization and release timelines.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and prioritize features based on business value.
  • Product Development:
    • Gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
    • Provide clear direction, requirements, and feedback to development teams.
    • Ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
    • Communicate product updates, progress, and timelines to stakeholders.
  • Product Launch:
    • Lead product launches and go-to-market strategies.
    • Develop marketing collateral, messaging, and positioning for product launches.
  • Product Performance:
    • Monitor and analyse product performance metrics.
    • Identify areas for improvement based on data-driven insights.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with courses in Electric Power Systems or energy systems is strongly preferred. Other options could be a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. An MBA would be a plus but is not required.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role with a track record of successfully launching and managing products is a MUST and is required. Similar experience in launching software products from concept to completion is required.
  • Strong background and understanding of software design and development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic thinker and visionary who can develop and execute product strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working in agile development environments is preferred.
  • Prior coding experience in the latest technologies would be a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of product management tools and software such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for technology and innovation, wanting to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
