About us

Zenskar is building new-age billing and pricing infrastructure for SaaS companies. As SaaS pricing evolves from vanilla subscription-based models to more granular usage-based models, billing and pricing infrastructure needs to be completely reimagined.

Zenskar is founded by Apurv Bansal & Saurabh Agrawal, who sold their previous startups to Snapdeal and Gaana respectively. They have experience at organizations such as Google, Basepair, Elevation Capital, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and Harvard Business School. We are funded by marquee global investors, including Bessemer Venture Partners.

We are building our founding team, and are looking for folks who can optimize for quick iteration, and fast deployment and have a great developer experience. Ideally, you are excited about learning and meaningfully shaping the trajectory of an early-stage startup from Day 0 in its journey.

What you can expect

  • Ownership and autonomy: As a founding team member, you have immense responsibility. You own and drive the execution.

Learning

  • You will work on challenging problems and cutting-edge technologies, ship (a lot!), and engage in some of the most meaningful work of your life.

  • On the backend side, we are building high throughput, high-scale data pipes to deal with the usage data of companies of any size.

  • On the front-end side, we are building low-code interfaces for various parts of the billing stack to let companies design the best tools for themselves.

  • You will have to think about all the people and systems that interact with the finance stack of a company, modularize the different parts of the stack well and build the correct abstractions. This includes systems like the CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) that Sales people interact with, the metering system that Developers manage, and the Billing, Payments, and Accounting systems that Finance manages.

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (US Market) to join our dynamic sales team. The BDR will play a pivotal role in identifying and qualifying potential leads, initiating meaningful conversations, and building strong relationships with prospective clients. As a crucial link between marketing and sales, the BDR will contribute to the growth and expansion of our customer base while gaining valuable experience in the sales process.

Role & Responsibilities of Business Development Representative

  • Lead Generation: Proactively research and identify potential clients through various channels, including online research, social media, industry events, and networking.

  • Outreach and Prospecting: Initiate contact with leads through personalized emails, cold calls, and other creative outreach strategies to engage them in meaningful conversations.

  • Qualification: Conduct thorough qualification of leads by understanding their business needs, pain points, and challenges to determine their suitability as potential clients.

  • Education and Consultation: Educate leads about our products, services, and solutions, showcasing how they can address their specific needs and add value to their business.

  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target companies to create a positive brand perception and build rapport.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align strategies, share insights from conversations, and refine messaging to enhance lead engagement.

  • Sales Handoff: Transfer qualified leads to the sales team with comprehensive lead intelligence, ensuring a smooth transition and effective follow-up.

  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lead interactions, conversations, and progress in the customer relationship management (CRM) system.

  • Performance Metrics: Meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead conversion rates, call/email activity, and revenue targets.

  • Market Insights: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to provide valuable insights that contribute to refining sales strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience working as a Business Development Representative at a B2B SaaS company serving the US Market.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in an early-stage setup with uncertainties.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Proven experience in outbound lead generation, prospecting, or sales development.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships over the phone and through written communication.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.

  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools is a plus.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle rejection positively.

  • Basic understanding of the industry and market trends relevant to the company's offerings.

  • Adept at researching and identifying potential leads through various channels.

  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
