What you'll do

The Senior Zuora Engineer will provide the technical as well as domain expertise for the Zuora subscription-based solution. This position will serve as a key point of contact for the Enterprise Applications team to implement the Docusign, digital billing, invoicing & subscription needs for digital customers. You will be part of the Commerce DTS team at Docusign. The current DTS team is responsible for configuring/customizing the Zuora SAS solution as well as identifying the impact surrounding the IT system.

This position is an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibility

• Collaborate with partners to understand project requirements and objectives related to Zuora Subscription Billing and Zuora Payment
• Develop and configure Zuora’s Product Catalog, including rate plans and pricing models, to meet business needs and support billing processes
• Design and develop custom workflows in Zuora to automate business processes, streamline operations and improve efficiency
• Ensure the security and integrity of Zuora’s environment by implementing industry practises and security measures
• Build and maintain customizations within Zuora using the API and the Zuora Object Query Language (ZOQL), Use Workflow APIs, Use Liquid expressions in Workflow, Using Data/Object Query or Fetch Query Workflow
• Design and implement payment solutions using payment methods like Credit Card, Alternate Payment Methods (APMs), ACH, Direct Debit
• Understand Payment Gateways, Country Specific requirements, Refund, Chargeback, Cancellation, Network Tokenization
• Work with product managers to capture business requirements specially Product Led Growth, E-Commerce Purchase, Usage Billing, Billing and Payment
• Configure and lead notifications within Zuora to keep stakeholders(internal and external) advised of key events and updates
• Create detailed and clear requirement documentation, process flows, wireframes, and other artifacts as needed to communicate requirements effectively
• Customize and design invoice templates in Zuora to align with branding guidelines and meet customer requirements
• Provide guidance and mentorship on billing processes and standard methodologies, demonstrating proven experience to drive efficient solutions
• Collaborate with the project team and provide regular updates on progress, challenges and recommendation

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required.(Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience working with Zuora and focused experience in Zuora subscription billing and payment solutions
• Zuora admin and architect certifications
• Expert in designing and implementing Zuora workflow using the standard processes like processing complex data using Lambda function, object query, retrieve query functions and liquid based operations
• Experience implementing Zuora Order Harmonization specially working in transition from Zuora Subscription Billing to Zuora Order Harmonization model and changing the APIs underneath
• Experience in integrating Zuora with other systems such as Salesforce and Avalara including Zuora 360 Sync
• History of working with sophisticated Consumption Billing using features like prepaid with drawdown, minimum commitment
• Experience with customizing Zuora using the Zuora API and ZOQL
• Strong experience with Zuora development, including Product Catalog, workflows, security, notifications and invoice templates
• Good understanding of the Zuora platform, Zuora Admin, Zuora objects, Workflow and APIs
• Understand payment methods like credit card, alternate payment methods, ACH and direct debit
• Understand payment gateways, country Specific requirements, refund, chargeback, cancellation and tokenized transactions

Preferred

• Strong functional and technical familiarity of the end-to-end quote-to-cash process, with experience delivering major business transformation initiatives (SaaS Platform)
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and best practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to engage with customers at all levels
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with a strong dedication to meeting project targets and delivering high quality results
